Training and Development

LPG training and accreditation

GasNZ is a delegated authority which appoints Approved Site Trainers who can certify LPG Fillers using the GasNZ training system. Under this system, site trainers are trained by one of the GasNZ Appointed Trainers.  They are then deemed to be an GasNZ Site Trainer and can certify cylinder fillers they have trained as LPG Fillers.

The online reaccreditation system for GasNZ Site Trainers can be accessed below.

GasNZ Certificates of Competence

GasNZ manages the Certificate of Competence (CoC) Protocol which identifies the competency requirements for working on reticulated gas networks.

It is one of a series of protocols developed to assist in achieving compliance with statutory obligations. These are recognised by the gas industry as good practice to support safe and efficient outcomes.

Please contact gascertificate@avetta.com if you have any questions about CoC applications.

The cost of issuing a Gas CoC card is $90.00, or $35 for a replacement card (excl GST).  There is an industry requirement for refresher training to be completed prior to renewal.

Appendix 3 of the Protocol lists the unit standards required for each CoC and identifies whether training and assessment resources are available for them.

Appendix 3 will be regularly updated as resources become available.

The CoC Protocol is administered by Avetta on behalf of GasNZ.

To apply for a new CoC or to apply to renew your CoC, please use the Gas CoC Application Form.
