Launch of GasNZ’s membership programme
7 May 2025
GasNZ is publishing and launching a comprehensive membership programme to ensure the specific events and activities it offers to members is visible and accessible.
As part of the package, our Lunch & Learn series of webinars for members and their staff has already begun, with the first webinar being held in early April.
Upcoming webinars include: Anaerobic digestion 101 with Alzbeta Bouskova from Ecogas on 21 May; The status of the hydrogen market with Hiringa Energy on 11 June; An overview of the Biogas Bridge forum on 23 July.
From August we will be running a series of webinars specifically focused on how the gas sector itself operates; it’s structure, its inter-related dependencies and processes.
Please email Brian Langham if you want to be on the mailing list for these webinars. We will send out the timings and topics for the webinars for the rest of the year in a few weeks’ time.
Matariki function
GasNZ’s annual networking function for members will be held from 4.30 to 6.30 pm on Thursday 12 June in Wellington, and will feature a panel discussion on security of supply and long-term options. Invites will be sent out shortly.
Biogas Bridge forum
GasNZ, in conjunction with the Bioenergy Association of New Zealand, is hosting an invite-only Biogas Bridge forum in Wellington on the 17th and 18th of July.
The forum seeks to unlock the potential of anaerobic digestion and waste-to-biogas production by bringing together key players from the waste, agricultural, industrial, and energy sectors.
Panels will consider short, medium and long-term opportunities and challenges. Speakers include those already producing biomethane in New Zealand and overseas, with Charlotte Morton OBE, Chief Executive of World Biogas Association as keynote speaker.
Technical committees
GasNZ’s six vital technical committees and advisory groups underpin the safe and efficient running of the natural gas and LPG sectors. (Participation on the committees is open to suitably qualified members, by invitation. If you are interested in learning more about participating in a committee, please contact Jeffrey Clarke at GasNZ.)
Technical Advisory Group
The Technical Advisory Group ensures technical standards and operating procedures related to the distribution of LPG, natural gas and renewable gas, through the Transmission and Distribution systems (including metering).
