KEST scholarships open for applications

‍Up to $10,000 is available per year per individual applicant to support study of benefit to New Zealand’s gas industry.

‍KEST, the Kennedy Educational Scholarship Trust, is administered by GasNZ, based on an endowment created as a memorial to the Kennedy family who were pioneers in the New Zealand gas industry.

KEST scholarships support study, applied research, technical experience, and travel that builds capability for both recipients and the wider New Zealand gas industry.

Who can apply?

‍We are currently seeking applicants who have identified a clearly defined technical or market challenge, and who present a study proposal that will deliver measurable industry benefit.

‍Applications are open to:

  • ‍People currently employed in the New Zealand gas industry in technical, engineering or market development roles (this could include appliances, gas applications, efficiency, construction, operations, safety and maintenance of gas systems) undertaking research or degree-level study

  • Post-graduate students in New Zealand gas industry-related engineering or market development roles.

‍In granting a scholarship, preference will be given to employees of organisations who are full members of GasNZ.
